Its body length equals roughly 7.4 standing adults laid head to toe. The hips alone rose to around 4 m - well above two reference humans stacked vertically.

The largest well-known individuals approached 13 m and exceeded eight tonnes. A skull could reach roughly the height of a person, while the animal's weight was comparable to a large elephant.

How certain is this size?
T. rex estimates vary by specimen. ScaleCheck uses 12.5 m and 8.4 tonnes to represent a very large adult rather than treating every individual as the same size.
